Overview
Welcome to the Communications Department at PCPS. The communications department is responsible for emergency communications, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, graphic design, marketing, mass notifications, media relations, photography, social media, and videography.
Media Inquiries:
PCPS complies with all application state laws and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Members of the media who want to record, photograph, or interview PCPS students or staff must submit their request through to the communications department at pcpscommunications@petersburg.k12.va.us.
Any time a member of the media is on PCPS property, a member of the PCPS communications team will serve as an escort to minimize disruption at the school and to assist with additional requests.
Freedom of Information Act Requests
The Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), at § 2.2-3700 et seq. of the Code of Virginia guarantees citizens of the commonwealth and representatives of the media access to public meetings and public records held by public bodies, public officials and public employees.
