Chef John Sugimura's “Tasting Japan Tour” Comes to PCPS

PCPS students learned about Japanese food and culture by third generation Japanese American and second generation Japanese chef John Sugimura. The professionally trained sushi chef featured Japan’s most iconic cuisine: Gyoza Japanese
dumplings in culinary and culture classes and Gyūdon spicy beef rice bowl, a Japanese recipe that is found everywhere in Japan and a local tradition. The culinary delight is the most popular rice bowl throughout Japan. Chef John also shared a 100 plus year authentic recipe, culture, history, techniques, and methods that expanded students' world to include Japan with foodie-fun.
Chef John is the 11th active member to the Chef Council in the Taher Professional Food Management’s 42-year history. The Chef Council stands for something at Taher, Inc. The chefs are a diverse group of chefs on the journey of excellence.
