Recently, our Varsity Soccer Coach at Petersburg High School, Ms. Ashley Martin, was named one of the most Positive Female Coaches in Virginia by the 2025 Positive Athlete Program. Positive Athlete is a recognition program that celebrates high character, high school student-athletes and coaches who have overcome difficult circumstances, given back to their schools and communities in a significant way, or just have an infectious positive attitude that makes everyone around them a better person. Out of more than 12,000 nominees nationwide, PCPS is immensely proud to have one of our own phenomenal employees recognized among the top 1%.

We commend Ms. Martin for consistently exemplifying passion, dedication, and perseverance in addition to positively impacting the lives of our students each day. This award is a monumental testament to her character, and we wish her the best of luck as she continues to inspire our students and lead the PHS Varsity Soccer Team to victory.
