College and Career Fair set for Aug. 9

Employers and colleges are invited to participate in a College and Career Fair taking place Aug. 9 in Petersburg. There is no cost to participate! Businesses, organizations and colleges can register here:

The fair is sponsored by Ward 3’s elected representatives -- School Board Chair Kenneth L. Pritchett and Mayor Sam Parham -- in collaboration with Petersburg High School’s Jobs for Virginia Graduates, the Virginia Employment Commission and Bryant & Stratton College.

Among the colleges and businesses already registered are Bryant & Stratton College; Mary Washington University; Army Airforce Exchange Services; Logistic Solutions Group; Norfolk State University; Chowan University; U.S. Army; Petersburg City Public Schools; Richard Bland College; Virginia Commonwealth University; City of Petersburg; Goodwill; John Tyler Community College; Longwood University; Care Advantage; Southside Regional Medical Center; and Colonial Cleaning Services.

Community members who are seeking a job or who want to learn about educational opportunities are urged to put the event on their calendars so they can attend the College and Career Fair 4-7 p.m. Aug. 9 at Vernon Johns Middle School, 3101 Homestead Drive. Community members are asked to dress professionally and bring copies of their resume and a pen.
