Sheriff Vanessa Crawford and Petersburg City Public Schools are working together to bring Andre Norman — the Ambassador of Hope — to Petersburg. He has experience and expertise in working with teens and communities in the areas of mentoring, safety and poverty-related problems.

As part of Norman’s visit to Petersburg, he will hold a community engagement gathering with parents, school volunteers and other interested people 6-7 p.m. Feb. 28 at Petersburg High School, 3101 Johnson Road. The meeting’s goal is to help Petersburg’s children and lift the entire community. Everyone is welcome at the community engagement gathering; there is no need to RSVP.

During his visit to Petersburg, Norman will speak to teachers and students during the school day. Additional information about Norman is available at his website: For more information about his visit to Petersburg, call 804-479-6814.
