Summer school for middle and high school

Petersburg High and Vernon Johns Middle students who have taken but not yet passed SOL tests are required to attend summer school. Also, Petersburg High students who failed a core content class are required to attend summer school. These students received letters providing details. If your student received a summer school letter, then you must return the registration form.

Summer school begins on Monday, June 24, so please act quickly to help your student succeed.

  • Petersburg High families who return the registration form by June 20 should bring it to the PHS front office. If you wait until the first day of summer school (June 24) to return the form, then bring it to the front office of Vernon Johns Middle School because that is where the high school will hold summer classes. If you have questions, contact Assistant Principal Will McClain at 804-861-4884.
  • Vernon Johns Middle families should teturn the registration form to Vernon Johns Middle by June 20 or at the very latest return the form on the first day of summer school (June 24) to the front office of Vernon Johns Middle School. If you have questions, contact Assistant Principal Nikita Robinson at 804-861-1249.

School offices are open Mondays through Thursdays and are closed Fridays during the summer.
