Pre-Kindergarten Registration OPEN NOW!
Petersburg City Public Schools offers prekindergarten at Westview Early Childhood Education Center.
Registration takes about an hour and a half to complete.
Registration for children who will be 3 years old or 4 years by Sept. 30
Parents must have all of the following items to complete registration:
- Birth certificate (must be 3 or 4 years old by Sept. 30, 2020)
- Proof of residency (current utility bill, mortgage or lease; if you live with family or friends, there is a form that must be notarized)
- proof of income for parent/guardian (All adults in the home.)
- photo ID
Needed prior to student being assigned a class and starting school.
- Immunization record
- complete physical examination (within the past 12 months) Assessment date must be within the past 12 months.
Head Start also requires child’s health insurance cards and child’s dental exam within the past six months.

There are a limited number of spots, so applying does not guarantee acceptance.
Notifications of enrollment will be sent by May 15. Students who are not initially accepted are placed on a waiting list,
in case a spot opens during the year. 10 percent of enrollment is for children with disabilities.
Petersburg City Public Schools offers transportation to all enrolled students, however an adult must be at bus stop each day to receive child to avoid loss of transportation.
Westview is a NO OUTSIDE food school. Please notify office if you need paper word for special diets.
Parents must attend an orientation in August before their children can start prekindergarten.
