The Petersburg School Board on May 1 approved the 2019-20 calendar. The calendar is designed to position students to succeed academically, meet state requirements and contain adequate instructional time to accommodate potential bad weather. Click here for the 2019-20 calendar.
Here are calendar highlights:
There are 180 instructional days for students: Classes start Sept. 3 and end June 12.
There are three three-hour early-release days for students. The Sept. 23 early-release day provides teachers time for professional development. The June 11-12 early-release days provide teachers time for grade preparation and end-of-the-year work.
Parent-teacher conferences will be Oct. 14, which is a student holiday. Parents will be able to sign up for specific conference times starting at 1 p.m., with the last conferences ending at 7 p.m.
Thanksgiving break is Nov. 27-29. Winter break is Dec. 23-Jan. 3. Spring break is April 6-10.
