We are excited to kick off the Superintendent’s Golden Series this week. Each week, your child will receive a young adult reading selection with a letter and a reading focus. The Superintendent’s Golden Series is one step we are taking to help promote literacy in Petersburg. We have selected a variety of books, both fiction, and nonfiction, to encourage our students to read for pleasure outside of their required school reading. These books present a variety of viewpoints and genres and were selected to pique our students’ interests. Many of the titles have won national awards for literature, are on the New York Times Best Sellers List, and are on Amazon’s Editor’s Picks for Young Adult readers.
