    Students have the opportunity to earn industry certifications that are recognized by businesses and industries at the local, state, and national level.  These certifications distinguish students as having mastered critical knowledge and skills in their fields of study.  

    Through partnerships with Brightpoint Community College, select CTE students are able to study concurrently at Petersburg High School and earn college credits on campus at Brightpoint Community College. Currently, concurrent enrollment classes are offered in Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC), Child Development, Welding, and Precision Machining.  

    Through all CTE programs, students have the opportunity to be inducted into the National Technical Honor Society, as well as to earn CTE Diploma Seals from the Virginia Board of Education for successful completion of an approved sequence of CTE courses.
