Cool Spring Elementary School- Lunch Buddies (Starting in October)
- Weekly or Bi-Monthly; 2nd: 10:45-11:15am; Kindergarten: 11:30am-12:00pm; 1st: 11:55am-12:25pm; 3rd: 12:10-12:40pm; 5th: 12:40-1:10pm; 4th: 12:45-1:15pm
- Eat and build a relationship with students during lunchtime (e.g. playing board games)
- Support students to enhance social and emotional skills
- Offer a safe place for mentees to share their stories – academic and personal
- Utilize active listening to ensure the needs of mentees are being met and sharing relevant academic and personal experiences if appropriate
- Mentoring (As Soon As Possible)
- Year-Long Commitment: Weekly or Bi-Monthly; 4th: 9:15-10:00am; 5th: 10:00-10:45am; 1st: 11:10-11:45am; Kindergarten: 12:50-1:35pm ; 2nd: 1:35-2:20pm; 3rd: 2:30-3:15
- Build a relationship with students centered on mutual trust and respect
- Offer a safe place for mentees to share their stories – academic and personal
- Encourage inquiry-based learning by providing students with the tools to explore their own thought processes and identify solutions
- Support mentees in creating an action plan outlining their motivation and goals
- Utilize active listening to ensure the needs of mentees are being met and sharing relevant academic and personal experiences if appropriate
- Library Assistance
- Weekly: 9:15-10:00am; 10:00-10:45am; 11:10-11:55am; 12:50-1:35pm; 1:35-2:20pm; 2:30-3:15pm
- Organize the library and establish routines that support children's learning
- Performs circulation activities such as collection maintenance, weeding, shelving, sorting, searching, retrieval of book drop, circulation reports preparation and filling requests/processing holds
- Planning a variety of bulletin board and book displays
- Provide administrative and technological support and additional services specified by librarian and/or teacher
- Faculty/Staff Appreciation (Monthly)
- Assemble care packages and/or write thank-you letters to teachers and staff
- Host an appreciation event for the faculty and staff
- Provide in-kind donations to faculty and staff (e.g. gift cards)

- Thursday, August 23; 9:00am-12:00pm
- Plant flowers and trim shrubs and trees
- Spread mulch
- Pull weeds and trim around sidewalks
- Clean the periphery of school building and playground(s)
- Paint classroom and hallway walls
- Dust, sweep and pick up debris

- Weekly; 10:40am - 1:30pm
- Assist teachers during lunch by helping to monitor students in the cafeteria

Petersburg High School's Crimson Wave marching band is currently raising money for new uniforms. The estimated cost for each uniform is $460.
