    The mission of the Testing and Accountability Department is to use technology to support a culture of data-driven decision-making that relies upon data to evaluate and improve teaching and learning.

    The Testing and Accountability Department oversees the administration of various assessments to help gauge teaching and learning. These assessments include:

    • Growth Assessments
    • Division Benchmarks
    • Project Based Assessments (PBA)
    • Standard of Learning (SOLs)
    • WIDA ACCESS for ELLs
    • Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS)
    • Virginia Alternate Assessment Program (VAAP)

    The data from the above assessments helps to guide school improvement, professional development, parental involvement, and tutoring. Quality data is provided to all stakeholders throughout the year.
